The moon has just risen through the haze across the Solway Firth, coloured nicely by the setting sun on a cold winter's day. The lighthouse which was originally constructed in 1749 stands 51 feet high at the village of Southerness on the Solway coast in Dumfries and Galloway Southwest Scotland, no longer in use but remains as a striking landmark.
