Renovated bridge and windmill De Adriaan, Haarlem #48882180
Description
Mill De Adriaan was built in 1778, on the foundations of a medieval defence tower, for grinding tuff, shells and oak bark. From 1802 onwards, tobacco was produced here and in 1865, people started grinding corn. In 1931, the stage mill burned down completely. Rebuilding started in 1999, with which the mill once again received a striking position in a sharp bend along the Spaarne. In the front a renovated bridge over the river Spaarne.
