A female Red Bellied Woodpecker on the backyard suet cage feeder. Red Bellied Woodpeckers are often mistaken for Red Headed Woodpeckers. A Red Headed Woodpecker's head is completely red verses the red just down the top of the head to the back of the Red Bellied Woodpecker. Red Bellied Woodpeckers also have a small patch of red on their belly.
