Jungfrau Slopes and Swiss Valleys #50534011
Description
This image taken from the slopes of Mannlichen in the Swiss Alps near Grindelwald, Switzerland. At an elevation of 13,642 feet, Jungfrau rises up into the blue skies and as we look down the slopes, avalanche gates can be seen as well as the Allmend train station that take passengers to Wengen down below. From Mannlichen, travelers can find hiking trails that lead to Kleine Scheidegg where one can board a train to Jungfrau or to Lauterbrunnen. They can also find great strudel at the mountain top restaurant there. There is a cable car station at Mannlichen that goes down to Wengen, which is a car free village offering views, food and accommodation. Also found at Mannlichen are the many Swiss cows that graze peacefully nearby. Whether sunny or foggy, the place offers spectacular views, peace and tranquility difficult to find elsewhere these days.
