Extinct Volcano on the MÄmalahoa Highway, Big Island Hawaii #50761936
Description
No, this is not Africa. This is not Australia. This is an example of the wild and windswept landscapes found on the Big Island of Hawaii. An extinct volcano quietly rises over the low horizon off the Hawaiûi Belt Road also known as the MÃÂmalahoa Highway not far from Waimea on the Big Island of Hawaii. This part of Hawaii does not look like the tropical part. The wind blows through the tall brown grass and the clouds hang low. The weather is changeable here on the dry side of the island. It is hard to believe that this windswept landscape is on a tropical island paradise with palm trees, ocean surf, and beaches. The Big Island has a wide range of scenery all of which is spectacular.
