Description
Lake Ingen is the caldera of a still active volcano. The beautiful color green comes from the sulfuric acid produced by liquid molten sulfur oozing from the ground. This sulfur burns spontaneously and produces beautiful blue flames more than 3 meters high. But also noxious fumes that burn your lungs. This pure sulfur is mined into chunks and transported by porters down the mountains in baskets weighing up to 100 kg. This volcano is part of the ring of fire region around the Pacific. This lake is the largest acid lake in the world.
