Photo of a pink ginger, or in Hawaiian, ââ¬ËAwapuhi ââ¬â Ulaââ¬â¢Ula.. The pale pink bracts are tiped with a deeper pink. Illuminated by Honolulu's tropical sun, the flower appears almost transluscent. It is complemented with broad, shiny light green leaves. Pink ginger is naturalized in Hawaii and is a variety of red ginger. It is cultivated for its ornamental value. This pink ginger grows in front of Waikiki's historic Royal Hawaiian Hotel, also known as the Pink Palace (not pictured here).
