¡ek Herbst architect Josef GoÃÂár. The object got its name in honor of the statue, which stood on this location at the Baroque house earlier. This is the first example of the application of cubism in architecture in the Czech Republic on the basis of which developed a characteristic style. Then the architect has revised the project, using the old Baroque elements in a new form, especially evident in the attic Windows, decor columns, has reinvented ionic order. The architect used reinforced concrete skeleton on the example of the Chicago school, so they have created an extensive internal space. Original interior is nearly the only preserved Baroque interior in the world. Currently the building houses the Museum of cubism. In 2010, the building is listed on the National monuments of culture of the Czech Republic.
