Description
An ancient technique from the small jewellery of Egyptian Pharaos to Byzantine Empire and Chinese modern products. A support made of copper is filled with several coloured enamels, separated by thin metal strips, creating small compartments, from the ancient Latin word clausus - closed - , in French developed french cloison . A wonderful ancient example is the Pectoral of Tutankhamon.
