Description
Standing 146 feet tall, the Wyoming State Capitol is the tallest building in Cheyenne. Its dome, covered with gold leaf, is visible throughout much of the city. Construction of the building began in the 1880s, and the first stage was completed in 1890, but there were several additions well into the 20th century. The legislature, governor and other principal state officials are based here.
