Description
This maze like building is one of the first ever concrete structure in China and built in 1933 to provide an example of what could be built with this new revolutionary material. Its purpose was also to provide a safer and cleaner way to slaughter animals as it was at the time only done in the street in poor hygiene conditions. This landmark was later saved from destruction to become a cultural and artistic hub in one of Shanghais trendy corners.
