Rhacophorus taipeianus Rhacophorus taipeianus is an endemic and protected species in Taiwan. Their distribution is limited to northern and central Taiwan in mountains under 1500m. Breeding season is from October to March, initiating by rainfalls. During the breeding season, males migrate to rice field, temporary rain pools, small pools or ponds. Males call in caves, digging by themselves, under coverings along the banks of still water. One female mating with multiple males (up to 4 males) has been reported. About 300-400 eggs are deposited in a white foamy mass hidden on the ground, roots of grasses, or under stones or mosses. After hatching, larvae are washed by rains into the water nearby and develop there.
