Description
This is a Summer picture of the Macoupin County Courthouse located in Carlinville, Illinois. The courthouse was designed by E.E. Meyers, is an example of Greek Revival architecture, and was constructed between 1868-1870. At the time of completion it was considered the largest county courthouse in the United States. The structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 17, 1976. This picture was taken on August 17, 2015.
