Sigismund's Column in the centre of the Castle Square - Old Town, Warsaw, Poland. It is the oldest secular monument in Warsaw (1643). The Old Town complex includes medieval buildings and fortifications - the Royal Castle, The Royal Square, St Johnââ¬â¢s cathedral, St Maryââ¬â¢s church, the monastery and the church of St Casimir, the city walls and the Barbican. All these objects were completely destroyed during the Second World War and rebuilt after 1945. The whole Old Town complex has been on the UNESCOââ¬â¢s list of World Heritage Sites since 1980. The column of king Zygmunt III Waza (Sigismund Column) located in the Castle Square is the highest secular monument in Poland.
