Description
This photo was taken in the beautiful Shackleford Banks, North Carolina. Shackleford banks is located at the southern tip the outer banks. Wild horses roam the beaches feeding on sea grass. The horses are said to have descended from the Spanish Mustang. It is thought the horses survived a shipwreck and made their way to shore. Shackleford bank is reachable with a short ferry ride from one of the surrounding towns. Once on the island you can relax for a nice beach day, roam the island in search of the horses, and even camp the night.
