Pyatigorsk- Russia's jewel #60216759
Description
Among the numerous Pyatigorsk monuments the Lenin monument is a bit unique. For more than 60 decades of Communist rule ââ¬â since 1917 - Pyatigorsk was one of the very few Russian towns and cities that lacked any monuments to Lenin, the world Communist leader. The reason was plane: lack of money. Only in 1971 the one was established, and it was one of the last monuments to Lenin to be placed in the central part of the urban territory of the USSR cities. And there it still remains, overlooking the city from the highland, and, in some way, dominating the city landscape.
