Ancient Fishing Dock Stock Photo

Masterpiece of popular architecture, Pier stilts of Carrasqueira, unique in Europe, is built on uneven wooden stakes, seemingly fragile, the 1950s and 1960s, serving as a dock for fishing boats there acostam. Now they are buried in the mud, now in the water, according to the tides. Integrated in the nature reserve of the Sado Estuary, the riverside village retains an impressive network of piling stretching hundreds of meters by muddy estuaries of the River Sado.
