The asset of Xizhou are its well-preserved courtyard homes, many of which are protected cultural relics. This house belonged to one of the dominant clans—the Yans, back in the old days. The traditional Bai architecture is characterized by hexagonal honeycomb patterns, ornate gateways, spacious courtyards and a carefully maintained balance between structural simplicity and elegant detail.
