City Gardens - Tropical Plants - Ficus Magnolioides Stock Photo

Brilliant tropical plants in a city garden, in a very warm Winter . Here a Ficus magnolioides ( alias macrophylla ) tree, with its tabular and aerial column- like roots. Imported and very well settled in Sicily, Italy, since the IX Century. Giants specimens are present as here showed, in several city gardens and mostly at the famous Botanical Garden in Palermo. The older one is born in 1860.
