Culture-historical museum Sorgdrager, Hollum, Ameland #65156858
Description
The history of Ameland can been experienced in the 'Sorgdragerhuuske' in Hollum, built in 1751, a commanders house built by Pieter Cornelis Sorgdrager. Characteristic houses from the 17th and 18th century still breathe the heyday of whale hunting the Northern polar seas. Two ledges with pointed pebbles in the facade (muizentandjes or mice teeth) is the house of a commander, one row less for the helmsman.
