Skeletons of dead lodgepole pines trees that died when hot spring run-off shifted and flooded a piece of forest. Dissolved minerals in the water deposited a crust of white silica on the bottom of the dead trees and stumps, as if they are wearing white anklet socks, at one time called ââ¬Åbobby sock.
