Living quarters at Natzwiller-Struthof concentration camp, France #68309036
Description
Tucked away up a remote road in the French Vosges mountains is the only concentration camp from WW2 in France. Built to house French nationals who would not toe the line during the occupation, mainly Resistance members, it has its own gallows! Inmates were forced to work in the local sand quarry, before sleeping in huts like this one, with perhaps 2 small stoves for warmth for the whole hut. It must have been freezing in winter!
