The decommissioned Norisle - a ferry built in 1946 to transport cars and passengers from Tobermory to Manitoulin Island - is now permanently berthed at the Assiginack Museum Complex in the town of Manitowaning on Manitoulin Island. Manitoulin Island is the largest freshwater island in the world and is a popular summer tourist destination with its varied coastline, famed North Channel waters and scenic vistas of the La Cloche Mountains.
