Brazil, Pernambuco, Recife city: street view in one of the most criminal slums, Santo Amaro, of the city. Women make collective clean mussels in the middle of the street. In the tropical north of Brazil it is very hot, so the younger women are airy, dressed. The poverty in this slum is huge and people seize every opportunity to make some money. Employment is minimal and because of the migration to the cities, urbanization, there is less and less work. With the peeling of mussels can these women earn some extra income in order to contribute to the cost of the household.
