Masai are a Nilotic ethnic group of semi-nomadic people in Kenya and northern Tanzania. Young men are circumcised at the age of 14-16 years. The healing process will take 3-4 months and boys must remain in black cloths for a period of 4-8 months. After they are healed, they have become a new person and receive the status of a new warrior.
