Soldiers' Tower, A University of Toronto War Memorial #70751552
Description
Soldiers' Tower was built immediately following World War One to honour all University of Toronto students and staff who died in service. Their names are etched on the monument. Those who died in service during the Second World War were also added in remembrance to the memorial. The 143-foot bell and clock tower is located in the downtown campus of the university and is a focal point of Canada's annual Remembrance Day events on November 11. This Gothic Revival tower houses a carillon of 51 bells.
