Temple emanu-El is a historic synagogue located in the southern area of Miami beach in Florida. It is the oldest synagogue in Miami beach. The temple was built in 1947 as theJewish Center of Miami beach, in 1966, were built additional classrooms and a magnificent ballroom. A mixture of Byzantine and Moorish architectural styles make the synagogue one of the most beautiful in America. Attention is attracted by a large dome and a monumental rotunda, which is reminiscent of the Great synagogue in Oran, in Algeria. The temple accommodates 1,370 persons, and its height is comparable with the height of nine homes. This is the fifth-largest synagogue in the United States.
