Tulip. Tulip (lat. Túlipa) ââ¬â genus of perennial herbaceous bulbous plants of the Lily family (Liliaceae), in modern sistematico including more than 80 species. The centre of origin and greatest diversity of species tulips ââ¬â the mountains of Northern Iran, Pamir-Alai and Tien-Shan. Within 10-15 million years of evolution tulips spread to Spain and Morocco in the West to Transbaikalia in the East and to the Sinai Peninsula in the South.
