Branch of lilac. Lilac (lat. SyrÃÂnga) is a genus of shrubs belonging to the family Oleaceae. The genus includes about ten species, distributed in a wild state in South-Eastern Europe (Hungary, Balkans) and in Asia, mainly in China. The shrub blooms in mid-spring, and its flowers have bold flavor and richness of shades. The flowers of lilac white, purple or pink, arranged in panicles at the ends of branches. Calyx small, short, bell-shaped, about four cloves. Corolla usually with a long cylindrical tube (more rarely, as, for example, the Amur lilac ââ¬â with short tube and flat limb chetyrehsotletnem. Stamens two, attached to the Corolla tube. Ovary one with a two-part stigma.
