View From Rasnov - Medieval Fortress From Transylvania, Romania Royalty-Free Stock Image

Rasnov Citadel is a historic monument built as part of a defense system for the Transylvanian villages exposed to outside invasions, on the route of the invading armies coming from the Bran pass. The only chance of survival for the inhabitants of the area was the refuge inside the citadel. Compelled to stay there for decades, the people of Rasnov and the nearby villages turned the fortification into a dwelling.
