Description
Folk rituals yield improvements in the Gomel region of the Republic of Belarus in 2015. Dressed in traditional costumes, the villagers, including women and children, the two groups are going to meet each other. They dance in a circle with songs, prayers, and then go to the field, where rye is sown, to bury there the arrows ââ¬â money and various household items. This ritual is carried out in order to produced a good crop, and rye was not killed by natural disasters. At the end of the ritual, children and young girls go in rye, which according to local belief, promotes good health. The ceremony is held annually in a number villages of Gomel region.
