Avro Arrow Monument #73297000
Description
The CF-105 Arrow was designed and built by the A. V. Roe Aircraft Company in Malton, Ontario, Canada. It's flight characteristics were considered miles ahead of any other aircraft of it's type in the world. After only a few successful test flights, the program was abruptly cancelled by the Diefenbaker government and all planes destroyed under pressure from proponents of the U. S. Bomarc missile defense program. Photo taken in Barry's Bay, Ontario at the park named for the plane's test pilot, Jan Zurakowski.
