Description
The Carnival of Binche is an event that takes place each year in the Belgian town of Binche. Binche Carnival tradition is one of most ancient and representative of Wallonia (Southern Belgium). On November 7th, 2003, Binche Carnival tradition entered on the List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. In the morning of Shrove Tuesday, It about 7 a.m., all the societies slowly start walking to gather in the centre of Binche to the tune of the drums. They go to the Town Hall, wearing their traditional wax mask.
