A section of mosaics from the Great Palace Mosaic at the Istanbul Mosaic Museum in Turkey. This scene shows a boy and a girls herding a pair of geeese. The floor was originally part of a Byzantine peristylar court and today around 250 square metres of the original mosaics remain. This represents around 1/8th of the total original floor plan which would have consisted of 75 to 80 million individual tiles.
