Description
This is a Summer picture of the 8th Street Fountain with the iconic Hilton Hotel in the background located in Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois. The fountain is the only surviving fountain of the three designed by Edward H. Bennett and placed on the Michigan Avenue edge of Grant Park. The fountain was constructed out of cast ornamental concrete with exposed pink granite aggregate, and was installed in 1927. The Hilton opened in 1927 as the Stevens Hotel, is an example of Beaux-Arts architecture, opened in 1927 as the Largest hotel in the world. This picture was taken on July 11, 2016
