Description
Netherlands , province Zeeland, former island of Walcheren , city Flushing or Vlissingen : Imperial stronghold, a fortification from the sixteenth century, which in French time was extended include a garrison bakery and casemates, and it resulted in the current form. As a water gate it is the only gate that remains intact in the place. The construction of this fortress was designed by Donato di Boni Pellezuoli, an Italian engineer, architect, in the service of Spain. The fortress is located in the downtown historic center, city center and is a famous landmark, cultural heritage site, national monument and tourist attraction. Atop the building is a lighthouse, and sitting people, tourists , vacationers, sunning, or enjoying the nice weather and the view of the Western Scheldt.
