From Wikipedia The name of the place has its origin for the presence of a tower in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries stood on nearby Lake Massaciuccoli (call first and then Guinigi Tower Tower of Turkish). The original name of Torre del Lago was added, Dec. 21, 1938, to Puccini to honor the composer who lived and composed many of his famous operas. His residence, Villa Puccini, is on the lookout of Lake Massaciuccoli and houses the tomb of the composer
