Snake. Snake (lat. Serpentes) is a suborder of the class of reptiles the squamates order. Snakes inhabit all continents, except Antarctica and a few large Islands such as Ireland and New Zealand, and many small Islands of the Atlantic ocean and Central Pacific ocean. Some snakes are poisonous, but not poisonous to a large number of species. Poisonous are poison primarily for hunting (to kill prey), but not for self-defense. The venom of some species is strong enough to kill a man. Non-venomous snakes either swallow prey alive (snakes), or pre-kill (strangle) her (snakes, Boas). The largest known snakes from living in the world ââ¬â reticulated Python and water boa Anaconda. The length of the smallest living snake ââ¬â Leptotyphlops carlae ââ¬â does not exceed 10 centimeters. The size of most snakes do not exceed one meter.
