Description
Blue spruce (Picea pungens) is a North American spruces (Picea) and conifer genus of plants belonging to the pine (Pinaceae) family. The species grows wild in the Rocky Mountains, the southern parts of 1 800-3 000 meters, but will not grow until the tree line such as increasing the corresponding region of Engelmann spruce (Picea engelmannii). Blue spruce grows generally mountainous valleys of the rivers where the humidity is higher. Blue spruce typically grows to 25-30 meters long. The leaves are grayish-green to pale blue-green, ranging from a lot of wild populations. Magazines to special blue or silvery strains have been bred varieties of ornamental plants introduced. These are sold blue fir or silver fir. Also, spherical varieties exist.
