Windmill Forclaz #79261775
Description
`Molino Forclaz`. Colon, Entre RÃÂos, Argentina. Four kilometers from the city of Colón, a landmark foreign to Argentinean traditions adds to the landscape as a symbol of perseverance from the first generations of European immigrants. Built by the Holland-born Juan Forclaz in 1888, the 15meter-high windmill was meant to grind wheat and corn, as itââ¬â¢s done in Holland, however it never functioned properly since there is not enough wind in this region. In 1985 the Ministry of Education and Justice declared this a national historical monument. Nowadays it is visited by journalists, poets, students and a wide range of other interested people who come to ask the owners and neighbors about its history.
