Description
The Viaduct of Chaumont, in Haute-Marne, huge railway bridge overlooking the valley of the Suize, is one of the most exceptional works in the middle of the 19th century in Europe. Built in 1855-1856 and inaugurated in April 1857, this work situated on the line linking Paris-East to Mulhouse is a arched bridge of 654 meters long and reaching 52 meters high, imagined by the architect Eugène Decomble.
