Lighted Virgin Mary in pilgrim town Lourdes #7967718
Description
Following the claims that there were apparitions of Our Lady of Lourdes to Bernadette Soubirous in 1858, Lourdes has developed into a major place of Christian pilgrimage, where patients come to cure. The Statue of the Crowned Virgin, often known as the Crowned Statue, stands across Rosary Square from the Rosary Basilica and faces the entrance. This prominent statue is a familiar landmark and a traditional meeting point. The statue is 2.5m high and cast in bronze, painted white and blue in the traditional colours. In the evening the statue is illuminated.
