Battle of Maloyaroslavets ââ¬â the largest battle of the Patriotic war of 1812, which occurred shortly after the retreat of Napoleon's army from Moscow. It took place on 24 October 1812. This date is considered one of the most important in the history of this war, and in honor of this event on the spot where occurred the main battle, every year there is a reconstruction of the battle with the participation of Russian military-historical clubs. The battle was the result of many processes that occurred in the actions of the Russian and French armies. Which began after the occupation by Napoleon Moscow guerrilla war seriously complicated the situation for the French and their allies. Due to the approach of the enemy had demolished the bridge over the river Puddle. On the morning of 24 October Dokhturov approached the city and, knowing the scarcity of the enemy, sent at 5 a.m. the attack of the 33rd Chasseurs regiment of Colonel A. I. Bistrom 2nd. The Rangers managed to beat the French to the outskirts of the city.
