Walking Flamingos, Le Grau-du-Roi, Camargue, France Royalty-Free Stock Image

The vast expanses of the Salins du Midi salt marshes situated a few cable`s lengths away from Le Grau du Roi - Port Camargue, have been in existence since the Middle Ages. Consisting of numerous evaporation ponds, which turn pink when their sodium chloride levels are at their peak, the salt marshes are a favourite resting spot for the plants and animals of the Camargue, especially its colonies of pink flamingos.
