Old columns/pilars topped by corinthian capitals, against a blue background. The late afternoon shadows provide texture, relief and detail to the corinthian capitals. These columns were originally a part of the US Capitol Building in Washington, DC. They are now located at the National Arboretum. In addition to their architectural and historic significance, the columns convey a sense of power, or can be a metaphor for government, justice, democracy, empire, etc...
