The first kerosene lamp for advertising has been installed in the window of the pharmacy Peter Mikolyasha. July 31, 1853 the first operation under the light of a kerosene lamp was held in the Lviv city hospital. Zaorsky surgeon who conducted the operation to remove appendicitis and previously worked by candlelight, was delighted by the bright light of a kerosene lamp. So she got recognition.
