Iconic actor, director, producer, and implacable foe of the Hollywood `blacklist,` Kirk Douglas, makes a point at a book-signing at B Dalton Bookseller in mid-town Manhattan on June 28, 1994. Known for his rugged good looks and chiseled facial features, especially his dimpled chin, Douglas was nominated for an Oscar and received an honorary Academy Award in 1996. Perhaps best known for his role of `Spartacus` in `Ben-Hur,` Douglas was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by outgoing President Jimmy Carter on January 16, 1981. Douglas turned 100 on December 9, 2016, and died on February 5, 2020 at the age of 103.
