Ancient city gate Oosterpoort and bridge of Hoorn #82623030

Netherlands, province North-Holland small city Horn, municipality Drechterland: on the street the Draafsingel [former moat] there is situated the Oosterpoort, the only remaining gate of the town. The building was built by J. J. Bilhamer late sixteenth, 16th, century. It is a curved archway passage with ornamental facades in Italian-style architecture. The house, gatehouse, on top dates from the beginning of the seventeenth, 17th century. The gate is a landmark, cultural heritage site, national monument and tourist attraction.
