This Ancient Pillar is actually a Garuda Pillar erected by a Greek named Heliodorus who was appointed as an Ambassador by Indo-Greek King ÃÂ Antialcidas of Taxila in the court of Sunga King Bhagabhadra during 115 B. C at Vidisha City Besnagar in Western Central India . This information in engraved on the Stone Pillar in Brahmi Script. This pillar is situated in Vidisha Town few Kilometers away from Sanchi. The height of the pillar is about 21 feet from the ground level.
