Description
Netherlands, province South Holland, city Leiden: in the street, Kort Galgewater, stands the town lumber yard, which was built at the beginning of the seventeenth, 17th, century, by the architect Lieven de Key or HC Bilderbeek in Renaissance architectural style. Built with red bricks, high-stepped gable, bacon stone layers and cross frames with red and white shutters. The city timber yard retained until 1986 the original function as a workshop, workplace, of the Public Works Department. Then the new owner of the Foundation for the Exploitation of the Elderly Leiden. The large work spaces and attics are divided into 33 residential units for the elderly, old people. This building is a landmark, cultural heritage site, national monument and tourist attraction, magnet.
